He carried out his traineeship at A&L Goodbody Solicitors. On qualifying as a solicitor, Ciaran worked in the firm’s Dublin office. He next moved to the firm’s London office and spent three years there working as an Irish solicitor. In 2012, Ciaran joined William Fry Solicitors, where he practised law for three years. Ciaran joined Damien Tansey Solicitors in 2015.
Ciaran specialises in Litigation including Personal Injury Claims*, Medical Negligence Law/ Medical Misadventure Law* and Employment Claims, as well as Commercial/Corporate Law. He has been lead advocate for clients in a wide variety of forums, including Coroners’ Inquests, Medical Council investigation hearings, Workplace Relations Commission hearings, Mediations and so on. He has been involved in many landmark medical misadventure and medical neglect legal cases and acted for patients/their families in some of the largest medical negligence awards by the Irish Courts.
Ciaran is a frequent author on Irish law issues. One of his key book publications was the Irish law chapter’ for “Capital Directive in Europe – The Rules on Incorporation and Capital of Limited Liability Companies” (published by Cambridge University Press). He has also lectured widely on Negligence and related issues, including in third-level institutions, and is .
Ciaran Tansey is admitted as a solicitor in Ireland, Northern Ireland and England & Wales. He is also a member of the Medical Injuries Alliance and the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association.
