Ciaran Tansey, Partner, specialises in Litigation including Personal Injury Claims*, Medical Negligence Law/ Medical Misadventure Law* and Employment Claims, as well as Commercial/Corporate Law.
He has been lead advocate for clients in a wide variety of forums, including Coroners’ Inquests, Medical Council Inquiries, Workplace Relations Commission hearings, Mediations and so on. He has been involved in many landmark medical misadventure and medical neglect legal cases and acted for patients/their families in some of the largest medical negligence awards by the Irish Courts.
Ciaran is a frequent author on Irish law issues. One of his key book publications was “Capital Directive in Europe – The Rules on Incorporation and Capital of Limited Liability Companies” published by Cambridge University Press (Irish law chapter).
He has lectured widely on Negligence and related issues, including in third-level institutions (including medicolegal seminars). He is regularly interviewed on RTE News, Virgin Media, Newstalk and other media channels regarding Medical Negligence issues, including childbirth issues.
Ciaran spent a number of years working at Paris’ Gide Loyrette Nouel Lawyers and Dublin’s A&L Goodbody Solicitors before qualifying as a Solicitor in 2007. After qualification, he worked as a Solicitor with A&L Goodbody for five years, based mostly in London. In 2012, he joined William Fry Solicitors in Dublin, before moving to Damien Tansey Solicitors in 2015.
