Sinead Travers is a First Class Honours MA and BA graduate of NUI Galway (also awarded a Fellowship for MA).
Sinead joined Damien Tansey & Associates as a trainee in 2007. She remained in that office for almost six years, working as a Litigation Solicitor for three years post qualification. In 2012, she was hired as a Solicitor by the Law Society of Ireland, the regulatory body for all solicitors in Ireland. She moved to Dublin to take up that role and was involved in a variety of areas of practice affecting solicitors throughout Ireland. In 2017, she returned to Sligo to join Damien Tansey Solicitor as an Associate.
Sinead specialises in all forms of Litigation, particularly Medical Negligence / Medical Malpractice* and Personal Injury Claims* (including Road Traffic Accidents and Workplace Accidents). She has legal experience in medical negligence cases of all types including cerebral palsy, birth injury and brain injury cases, and has represented families at some of the highest profile Coroner’s Inquests.
She is a regular lecturer in matters of Irish Law. In recent years, Sinead has lectured to a wide range of groups, including members of Accounting Technicians Ireland, and Practicing Solicitors. She is also a widely published author of articles on Irish Litigation practice and other related areas.
Sinead is admitted as a Solicitor in Ireland, and in England & Wales, and is a member of the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association.
